Teacher's Resources
Here you will find resources available to use in the classroom, around which you can build informative and interesting activities.
For each seafood sector a wall chart has been developed to help you tell the story of different species from sea to plate. The charts are accompanied by a comprehensive set of notes which explain the illustrations.
Have a look through the downloadable images, which will help you to focus on particular aspects of the process, or let your class watch a live video of fishermen at work!
Pupils will enjoy studying our species guide, which details the main species caught in Scottish waters. It also shows the months when they are at their best, and suggests ways to cook them. For greater detail, check out the Scottish seafood recipe booklet for suggestions to use in home economics. (See below)
The Seafood in Schools team will be updating the images and videos throughout the year, so keep an eye out for new items to use in class. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, take a look at our useful contacts page or get in touch with our Seafood in Schools coordinator, Cat Frankitti. cat [at] seafoodinschool [dot] org or phone 07968 266301/0131 557 9344.
